The General Social Service is the first point of contact and advice center for all children, young people and their families seeking help in Wolfsburg. Together with 24 colleagues, we provide advice and support to young people and their families in difficult life situations through a wide range of services. We also protect young people in situations where their parents are unable to do so and make an active contribution to child protection. The aim of our work is to work with everyone involved to improve the living conditions of children, young people and families, to strengthen them and to promote their personal responsibility and individual skills

Your activities:

  • Advice for children, young people and families on parenting issues and social security
  • Guidance and support by arranging outpatient and inpatient educational assistance in accordance with SGB VIII
  • Ensuring child protection by exercising the state's duty of guardianship
  • Assistance and support in crisis and emergency situations
  • Participation in family court proceedings
  • Networking with various cooperation partners (daycare centers, youth recreational facilities, schools, housing associations and various institutions)

You bring with you:

  • a degree in social work / social pedagogy with state recognition
  • or a degree in education (Dipl.), educational science (Bachelor's or Master's) or childhood education (Bachelor's or Master's), each with at least one year of professional experience
  • or qualification for career group 2, 1st entry-level post, specializing in health and social services (No. 1 Annex 4 NLVO)
  • Experience in the work of a general social service is desirable
  • Ability to cooperate constructively with network partners
  • A basic pedagogical attitude that is characterized by resource orientation and appreciation in relation to children, young people and families
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team
  • Flexibility with regard to work and working hours (crisis situations, court dates, business trips, on-call duty)
  • Friendly and competent demeanor and identification with the professional field
