Sport is an important part of everyday life for many people in Wolfsburg. Sport inspires! More than 40,000 citizens are members of a club in our city. Sport generally promotes fitness and health, encourages motor and cognitive development in children and young people and brings people from many different social groups and cultures together.
The Sports division helps to ensure that both recreational and popular sports as well as competitive and elite sports in Wolfsburg have good conditions across the board.
The area of responsibility is correspondingly extensive and includes the administration of the city's sports facilities, advice and financial support for club sport, the implementation of sporting activities and events and the planning of municipal sports development. Promote, inspire and connect - what applies to sport itself is also the credo of our work.
