The Kunstverein Wolfsburg was founded in 1959. It is the city's oldest art institution and at the same time its most avant-garde. Its ambitious program, which has achieved national and international renown, promotes artists of the younger generation whose works provide relevant answers to questions of the day. Each year, a coherent annual program is developed, with exhibitions and projects complemented by lectures, discussions, film evenings and concerts.
The institution sees itself as a platform for current topics in art with the claim to also address young art enthusiasts.
