WAS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Wolfsburg in the legal form of a municipal institution under public law.
The object of the company is to perform the tasks of the City of Wolfsburg as a public waste disposal authority in accordance with the Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act, the Lower Saxony Waste Management Act and the Lower Saxony Road Act.
These tasks are performed by the operation of the Wolfsburg waste disposal center (with waste pre-sorting and transfer facility, intermediate problem waste storage, composting facility, small delivery site, green and shrub cuttings acceptance) and by the technical operation (with waste collection, container service, street cleaning with winter service, central vehicle workshop with vehicle purchase and filling station). Since its foundation in 2005, WAS has been a young and modern company with around 200 employees in the Wolfsburg city group.
