WBG is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Wolfsburg and was founded together with its subsidiary n@work Service GmbH (n@work) on 01.04.2005. Both companies are independently certified and employ more than 200 people at several locations in Wolfsburg in jobs that are subject to social insurance contributions and are covered by collective bargaining agreements.
Under the motto "Employment for Wolfsburg," the services offered by both companies cover the entire spectrum of employment promotion within the city of Wolfsburg.
As a non-profit institution, the WBG pursues various social labor market activities and designs labor market qualification and employment measures for job seekers as well as for disadvantaged target groups.
Within the framework of employment promotion and on behalf of the city of Wolfsburg, the WBG operates, among other things, the animal shelter and provides a janitor service in the city's homeless shelters. Another area of the WBG's social commitment is the operation of catering facilities, which serve as an aid to integration into the primary labor market and as a meeting place for the population of Wolfsburg. In addition, the WBG not only makes an ecological contribution with the concept of the social department store, but also offers many job seekers and long-term unemployed with multiple placement barriers practical employment under multi-professional guidance in this area.
n@work acts as a versatile social service provider on the market and within the City of Wolfsburg. For many job seekers, it is the link between the WBG and the primary labor market and serves as a stepping stone to employment subject to social insurance contributions. As a flexible and reliable service provider, n@work is active in the areas of commercial services and mobile assistance services, as well as refugee support and personnel leasing.
