Wolfsburg for the UEFA Women's EURO 2029

Wolfsburg is officially on the shortlist to host the UEFA Women's EURO 2029 - now it's time to keep your fingers crossed!

Wolfsburg eagerly awaits the UEFA Women's EURO 2029

A summer full of soccer, enthusiasm and community - this image is within reach for Wolfsburg. Because our city has made it: we are on the shortlist of venues for the UEFA Women's EURO 2029!

The joy is huge: together with VfL Wolfsburg-Fußball GmbH, the city of Wolfsburg has convinced the DFB Executive Committee. This means that the chances of Europe's best female footballers playing here in our stadium in four years' time are within reach. Whether Germany wins the bid will be decided in December 2025 - until then, we all have to keep our fingers crossed!

Our path to the UEFA Women's EURO 2029

Voices from Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg lives and breathes sport

Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann sums up the excitement: "The fact that we have been nominated as a venue is a great success and a strong signal for Wolfsburg as a sports city. Hosting such an important tournament would further strengthen our reputation as an attractive and sport-loving city. As the host city of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, we have already impressively demonstrated that we are a good host. Our city lives and breathes sport - with first-class conditions, a strong infrastructure and great enthusiasm among the population, we are ready for a tournament of this caliber."

A joint success

Team spirit was behind the bid: the city, VfL Wolfsburg, Wolfsburg Wirtschaft und Marketing GmbH (WMG) and many other partners worked shoulder to shoulder. Project manager Henry Eichberg emphasizes: "It was only through close, constructive cooperation that we were able to position ourselves as one of the final venues. That's Wolfsburg: strong together, with a passion for soccer and the will to achieve great things."

Together WE Rise

On March 8, 2025, International Women's Day, the DFB presented the logo and slogan for the bid: "Together WE Rise". The "WE'29" logo not only stands for the Women's EURO 2029, but also for diversity, cohesion and the joy of a shared soccer festival. Dennis Weilmann says: "Wolfsburg lives soccer - not only with our strong club history, but also as a passionate host of major tournaments. The UEFA Women's EURO 2029 would be a fantastic opportunity to further promote women's soccer and present our city as a modern, international venue. Together WE Rise - we are ready to be part of this great soccer festival!"

Among other things, we bring this with us:

  • Experience as host city (FIFA Women's World Cup 2011)
  • Stadium and infrastructure

  • Enthusiastic soccer city
  • Women's soccer with tradition

Looking ahead

Now it's time to wait - and hope. UEFA will decide on the award in December 2025. Until then, the anticipation in Wolfsburg is growing day by day. Perhaps our city will soon be transformed into one of the central venues for European women's soccer - with full stands, shining eyes and unforgettable moments.

Wolfsburg is ready. Together WE Rise.
