New driver's license regulation since 2019:
Driving licenses issued as of 19.01.2013 are only valid for 15 years. However, this only affects the driving licenses, not the associated right to drive corresponding motor vehicles.
After 15 years, a new driver's license with a new passport photo must be produced. Without health or other suitability test.
Already now existing and valid driving licenses do NOT have to be rewritten. The mandatory exchange must be completed by 2033.
The gray and pink driver's licenses do NOT lose their validity!The main or sole residence must be in Wolfsburg. In addition, the foreign driver's license must still be valid.

An ID card terminal is available in the hallway on the ground floor of City Hall B of the City of Wolfsburg. You can enter your biomatric data here:

for ID cards, passports and driver's licenses yourself. This saves effort and costs for obtaining his biometric passport photo. After capturing, the document application must be continued at the counter. The fee for capturing the data is 6.00 euros and will be charged together with the fee payable for the document application at the counter.
Please note that the data collected can only be used to apply for an identity card, passport or driver's license.
The transcribed foreign driver's licenses are deposited at the Driver's License Office.
