Surface sensor

How much do our urban areas heat up in summer and what impact does this have on the microclimate?

To answer this question, a digital surface sensor was installed on the town hall square . It continuously measures the ground surface temperature, air temperature and humidity. This makes it possible to observe exactly how different materials and surfaces - such as paving, asphalt or green areas - heat up and cool down during the course of the day.

As the renovation of the town hall square is imminent, the measurement data will serve as the basis for a before-and-after comparison. This will make it possible to visualize how planned measures such as unsealing, greening or new surface materials will affect temperature development and the local climate.
The aim is to use the data obtained to promote climate-friendly design concepts and sustainably improve the quality of life in the city center.

By using this function, you agree that the data may also be transferred to third countries, outside the European Economic Area, without an adequate level of data protection (especially USA). It is possible that authorities may access the data without any legal remedy. You can revoke your consent at any time. Further information: Privacy policy
