Wolfsburg and the region are at the heart of Lower Saxony, Europe's leading mobility location. This is the headquarters of the Volkswagen Group, one of the world's leading car manufacturers and Europe's largest car producer, as well as numerous companies in the automotive supply industry. Many of them operate globally.

Automotive know-how is not only concentrated in the companies. Research facilities and university institutes in and around Wolfsburg form important competence centers. Networks and regular specialist events stimulate the exchange between players from industry and science.

The partners demonstrate their expertise in the entire field of mobility in numerous research activities. These include, for example, the Open Hybrid LabFactory, a research center for the development and production of hybrid lightweight components. The new center is located in the direct vicinity of Volkswagen AG's Mobile Life Campus, which is home to the Automotive Research Center Niedersachsen (NFF). Projects to optimize transport infrastructure and intelligent mobility also demonstrate the industry's capabilities.
