Ensembles
16 different ensembles are part of the music school
What has been practiced in lessons or alone can be tried out in our 15 orchestras and ensembles - vocal and instrumental.
Students can come together at all performance levels and rehearse together, overcome stage fright, stand on stage and receive applause! This is because our ensembles perform several times a year on a wide variety of stages, and of course this also gives rise to private contacts and ideas for joint activities.

The ensemble: The "flute bloggers" formed under the direction of Katrin Heidenreich during online lessons and worked on their pieces with the help of playbacks. Of course, the members of the ensemble also met live for rehearsals, and so they have now become an integral part of the ensemble landscape at the music school. They performed very successfully at the 6th Regional Music Festival in Goslar and the "Music School in Concert" event.
Their program includes pieces from Mozart's "Magic Flute" as well as well-known melodies from film and folk music and musical episodes "From the lives of Native Americans"

Special highlights were the joint concert with the Renaissance dance group Newcastle and the performance at the State Garden Show in Wolfsburg. Last year, the ensemble once again delighted the residents of the hospice with Christmas music, continuing a long-standing tradition. In 2012, Flauto Dolce won first prize at the music school's Grand Prix. The ensemble currently consists of seven members.

Sound sample "Jazz and Pop Choir - "Cheek to Cheek by Irving Berlin":
All string students of the music school who have been playing their instrument for at least 2 years and have mastered the basic skills are invited to make music together. In the weekly rehearsals, polyphonic pieces ranging from baroque minuets to arrangements and adaptations of popular melodies are rehearsed with a lot of fun and joy.
Projects with wind players or together with the cello ensemble Cellophonie of the music school round off the musical events. The individual abilities of the players are always taken into account and the shared positive experience of music is emphasized.
Of course, the results of the rehearsals will be presented to an interested audience at various music school events such as chamber music concerts, Christmas concerts or other events.
will be presented to an interested audience. Participation in the ensemble is a useful supplement to individual lessons on violin, viola, cello or double bass and thus prepares the students for a later transfer to the orchestra of the music school.
Rehearsals are held on Fridays from 4:10 to 5:10 p.m. in Room 111 of the Goethe School. Kristina Klaus, an experienced violin teacher at the music school, is the director.
Transverse flute ensemble
The ensemble is aimed at flautists with several years of teaching and playing experience. Both young people and adults who enjoy making music together are welcome. We are still looking for more players!
Participants:
There are currently 8 committed music students, young people and adults. There are currently 12 interested participants for 2024.
Repertoire - catchy tunes and much more: We play arrangements of orchestral works such as Edvard Grieg's "From Holberg's Time", or bring Mozart's Papageno from The Magic Flute from the opera stage to the music school. The Christmas program never lacks the beautiful chorales from Bach's Christmas Oratorio. Even lesser-known chamber music works, such as a trio sonata by Stamitz, are given a whole new face in a flute choir setting, as is the catchy tune "Spanish Love Song". An original composition by Friedgund Göttsche-Niessner, composer and music teacher, hits exactly the right nerve and spirit of the ensemble: "Just for fun - 3 heavenly catchy tunes". No wonder that "Moon" has become a favorite piece. The focus is therefore on classical music, but the ensemble is stylistically open in its choice of pieces; film music, e.g. from The Jungle Book, is also part of the "set list".
Instrumentation:
In addition to the well-known concert flute, the alto transverse flute and piccolo are also used in order to experience the extended, almost orchestral timbre spectrum of the transverse flute family and to have as many repertoire options as possible.
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals take place on block dates (75-90 minutes) on Wednesdays from 6 p.m., also in subgroups (YoungFlutEmotions and FlutEmotionSeniors, or together in Tutti FlutEmotions).
The aim is to perform at music school events, including outside the school, such as at the Regional Music Festival Wolfsburg in 2024, or in retirement homes to delight others with music. In December, the flute ensemble regularly performs "Music for Christmas" for the residents of the AWO residential and nursing home Goethestrasse.
Contact:
The ensemble is led by Nicola Bodenstein-Polito, interested parties are welcome to contact her by e-mail at nicola.bodenstein-polito@stadt.wolfsburg.de or by telephone on 0160 6946706.

Whether music from Disney musicals such as "Aladdin" or soundtracks from films such as "Forrest Gump," Irish "Forrest Gump", Irish and South American folk music or classical music classical music from Haydn to Bizet: handmade music that's fun to play and together leads to a sonorous result - that is the Ensemble Quodlibet.
Performances: In addition to the already traditional annual final concerts, performances in the context of retreat music in the Ehmer church, the ensemble Quodlibet has already been a sonorous ambassador for the ambassador of the music school of the city of Wolfsburg at the 1. regional Music Festival in Salzgitter-Salder.
