A contribution to climate protection can be made for as little as 20 euros. Since 2019, 175 trees have already been planted thanks to donations from committed citizens. "Many citizens have already donated trees to commemorate special events or people. The aim of the donation tree project is to do something for climate protection in particular. Every individual can make a contribution," explains city planning officer Kai-Uwe Hirschheide.

There are various donation options, from planting your own young tree for 300 euros, to sponsoring an existing tree or participating in a tree with a collective donation of 20 euros or more. Personal dedications can also be purchased with a plaque including a post. Anyone who would like to get a personal impression of a donation tree or a dedication before making a donation will find a large selection of different tree species in Allerpark, for example.
