Dr. Jennifer Siemann will become the new Head of the Health Division and the Health Planning Unit at the City of Wolfsburg on 1 June. She has been a doctor at the health department since 2006, has been head of the Social Psychiatric Service department since 2021 and was already deputy head of the division. After graduating from high school in Braunschweig, she studied human medicine in Göttingen and received her doctorate in 1997. After working in Braunschweig and Königslutter, she has been employed by the City of Wolfsburg since 2006, focusing on prevention, child and adolescent psychiatry and the social psychiatric service. Her goals in her new position are to further expand the local healthcare networks, improve cooperation with the public health service and strengthen the topic of public health as a whole.

Siemann succeeds Dr. Volker Heimeshoff, who is retiring after 33 years with the city. Dr. Heimeshoff was Head of the Social Psychiatric Service from 1992 to 2021 and has been Head of the newly founded Health Division since 2021. Prior to 2020, his work focused on the further development and expansion of the city's social psychiatric service and the development of cooperation between the treatment sector (AWO Psychiatric Center) and the public health service (Social Psychiatric Service). At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, he led the measures of the Health division in pandemic management, set up the new division, the former health department, and also headed the Health Planning staff unit.
