New support offer
CJD Wolfsburg 5-day group starts
In cooperation between the CJD and the city of Wolfsburg, the 5-day group was set up - a care service that supports children and young people from the age of eight and their families in stressful situations. It closes the gap between outpatient and inpatient help and enables children to remain in Wolfsburg: school attendance, friendships and social contacts are maintained.
The group offers space for seven children and young people, who can grow to meet their challenges with the support of the teachers, while families are relieved and supported at the same time. The children are cared for from Sunday afternoons to Friday mornings - with round-the-clock care including night duty.
One focus is on intensive work with parents: regular discussions with children, parents and caregivers promote the return to the family of origin or, in exceptional cases, independence. The care system with a fixed caregiver and a representative ensures stable relationships and support - even in times of conflict. The aim is to relieve the burden on families, create new development opportunities and work together to develop prospects for the future.
