Private projects for the city center
Up to 5,000 euros in funding - making the city center more attractive

"The great ideas for Fallersleben and Vorsfelde show how strongly people identify with the districts. We also want to strengthen local commitment for the city center through the funding and thus further increase identification. Together, we will significantly enhance our city center," explains Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann.
"The city center fund offers a good opportunity to support private initiatives that enhance our city center and make it more vibrant. Through targeted funding, we want to strengthen local commitment and work together to create an attractive, sustainable city," adds Kai-Uwe Hirschheide, First City Councillor and City Planning Councillor.
Your ideas for an attractive city center
"The development funds in Fallersleben and Vorsfelde are very popular and we have received some suggestions as to whether a funding program is also possible for the city centre. We are happy to look into this, because the focus of our work is still on strengthening our city center and centers together and making them more attractive for everyone," says Jens Hofschröer, Head of Economic Affairs and WMG Managing Director.
In order to receive a grant, the proposed idea must contribute to strengthening the city center. A list of criteria has been drawn up for this, at least one of which must be fulfilled. These include, for example, ideas that contribute to urban ecology, climate goals, open space quality and health, strengthen retail and local supply or support social and cultural activities.
City center: more than just Porschestrasse
The area of application for the city center is bordered by the Mittelland Canal (north), the Berliner Ring (east), Siemensstrasse and its extension behind the theater and CongressPark (south) and Lessingstrasse (west). Applications for funding and support during implementation are handled by the city management of Wolfsburg Wirtschaft und Marketing GmbH (WMG). Eligibility for funding is determined by a fund commission - consisting of representatives from politics, administration, business, clubs and associations.
It is planned that the first applications can be submitted in mid-July. The inner city fund is a measure within the framework of the Citysofort program for Wolfsburg's inner city and a project impulse from the direction book of the inner city development concept.
