Exciting insights on World Bee Day

To mark World Bee Day, the Nature Exploration Station (NEST) and Wolfsburg City Library hosted a joint event for children and families. How do wild and honey bees live, how do they differ and why are they so important for our ecosystem? Participants were able to get to the bottom of these questions at hands-on stations. Particularly brave guests were even allowed to hold a frame with live bees and taste fresh honey straight from the comb.

There were also nesting aids for mason bees and sand bees, although the weather prevented them from making an appearance. A picture book cinema and a craft activity rounded off the program.
