Guidelines for child day care (KTP)

Information on the Child Day Care Directive

The city of Wolfsburg is centrally responsible for the organization and professional design of child day care. All tasks are bundled in the Youth Division, Department of Early Childhood Education, in order to ensure a reliable, high-quality and family-oriented form of childcare.
The central tasks include

  • Advice and placement for families
  • Professional advice and support for childminders
  • Cooperation with educational institutions for the qualification of prospective childminders
  • Planning, organizing and implementing training courses for childminders
  • Issuing and regularly reviewing the care permit in accordance with Section 43 SGB VIII
  • Promoting and ensuring suitable replacement models
  • Granting ongoing cash benefits for childminders
  • Determination of parental contributions for child day care

The Child Day Care Directive forms the legal and content-related basis for the implementation of these tasks. It regulates the funding, quality assurance and responsibilities in child day care in Wolfsburg in a binding manner. At the same time, it provides all those involved with reliable guidance and creates a transparent framework for cooperation in child day care.
