Vocational orientation is part of general school education and an essential link between the education and employment systems.
The aim of careers guidance is to ensure the ability to train through practical and systematic measures at an early stage and to strengthen pupils' career choice skills.
Careers guidance is a joint task that is carried out by various partners from business, the employment agency, schools and young people/parents. The successful transition from school to vocational training is a complex developmental task in adolescence that can only be successfully managed together.

Over 2,600 young people study at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Wolfsburg Campus.
The range of courses offered at the Ostfalia Campus in central Wolfsburg is broadly diversified according to the Ostfalia University motto "It's the mix that counts".
The degrees are recognized nationally and internationally. They offer graduates a wide range of opportunities to position themselves on the global job market.

Vocational education in your adult education center
Skills and knowledge are of paramount importance for the development and preservation of personal identity and for social participation. However, society is being shaped more than ever by development and innovation. As a result, the demands on employees are growing.
This is why continuing professional development is an indispensable part of our range of programs. It starts with skills such as learning ability and language skills and extends to qualification courses leading to qualifications.
You will also find offers for professional advancement in pedagogical, business and technical fields. Events on cross-cutting topics that strengthen professional and personal skills round off the offer.
Various training courses are organized for specific target groups - particularly in the area of IT programs - for beginners and advanced learners.
Knowledge quickly becomes outdated, especially in a professional context. Knowledge in the IT sector needs to be constantly updated. For this reason, it is important to be open to new things and to remain curious in order to meet the requirements of the job market. By successfully passing examinations (Xpert, VHSConcept,...) you document the level of knowledge you have acquired. Expand your professional and social skills.

Voluntary social year
Once again this year, the city of Wolfsburg is offering young men and women who have completed their compulsory full-time schooling and are no older than 27 years of age the opportunity to gain an insight into their professional career.
From 01.09.2015, it will be possible to complete a voluntary social year in the children and youth sector of the Youth Division for one year and thus gain an insight into the activities and tasks of educators and social pedagogues.
The FSJ also makes it possible to bridge waiting periods, e.g. until the start of a course of study. In some cases, universities and colleges count the FSJ as an internship when accepting students for the relevant courses.
One place is available in each of the Vorsfelde, Mörse and Fallersleben daycare centers and at the clinic, at the Westhagen construction playground, the Buntspecht adventure playground in Vorsfelde, the Fallersleben active playground and at the Detmerode and Westhagen open all-day elementary school, at the Detmerode leisure center, the Westhagen leisure and education center, the multi-generation house and in the administration of the youth development department.
The practical work is full-time. In addition, there are at least 25 seminar days.
Volunteers receive a monthly allowance of €363.00 and are insured free of charge for statutory health, long-term care, pension, unemployment and accident insurance. In addition, volunteers are entitled to child benefit during their voluntary service in accordance with the Federal Child Benefit Act.
