The music school has been an integral part of Wolfsburg's cultural life for over 50 years. In addition to its music education program, it contributes to the quality of life and family friendliness in the city of Wolfsburg through events and concerts and through its cooperation with schools, daycare centers, church communities and amateur music groups.

The pedagogical quality is guaranteed by the qualified teachers, who teach competently and with commitment and also have an impact on the city as musicians. The offer ranges from Musikgarten to elementary education for 4 to 6-year-olds to senior citizens. Specialized lessons, individually or in groups, are offered for almost all instruments. In around 20 orchestras, bands and ensembles, both vocal and instrumental, like-minded people can come together, rehearse together and celebrate success on stage.

Situation of the music school In addition to the traditional core area of the music school, which comprises a total of around 1,400 pupils in almost all instruments, the traditional elementary area has shifted to the area of afternoon care. The "supervised pupils" in our cooperations are becoming increasingly important. Around 750 additional pupils are looked after here by our teachers. Pupil numbers are stable, but need to be developed and maintained with commitment.

The music school's after-school activities have been firmly established since 2006 and make an active contribution to school life. Performances by the drum groups, school choirs and attractive creative activities have triggered a veritable run. The music school is now represented at practically all childcare locations and invests more than one full-time position in this form of teaching.
