Monday: 16:00 - 17:30
Thursday: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Objective and function
The open consultation hour serves as a low-threshold initial contact service with the following functions:

• Order clarification: Determination of the counseling concern and responsibility
• Resource-oriented initial assessment: Identification of existing coping skills and support systems
• Crisis intervention and relief: Psychosocial stabilization in acute stressful situations
• Solution-oriented brief intervention: providing initial strategies for action and guidance

Time frame
Counseling lasts approx. 20 minutes
Format: Brief counseling (no comprehensive counseling processes, no contact counseling)

Possible procedures

1. referral
Takes place in particular with:

• Indications of child endangerment in accordance with Section 8a SGB VIII (referral to ASD/EMA)
• Issues outside the scope of educational counseling (e.g. addiction counseling, psychiatric care)

2. case intake

• If there is an indication for educational counseling
• Cases are then assigned by the counseling team according to professional criteria and taking capacity into account
  

Organizational framework conditions:

• Access without prior appointment
• No counseling guarantee: If there is a high demand and capacity is exceeded, a prompt follow-up appointment will be arranged
• Free of charge in accordance with Section 28 SGB VIII
• Confidentiality obligation
• Anonymous on request (low-threshold accessibility)

The Counseling Department and the Social Services Department offer joint consultation hours for questions and complaints concerning the General Social Service and/or the Educational Counseling Service.
