Fallersleben Castle Park gets a stage platform

Spade set, starting signal given: With the official ground-breaking ceremony, we marked the start of construction for the stage platform in Fallersleben Castle Park. The six by four meter platform on the "Hoffmannwiese" will be a meeting place that can be used as a stage for events or simply as a place to sit.

"We want to create a central meeting place in the heart of Fallersleben. Even comparatively small measures can have a big impact. The platform will be freely accessible and usable for everyone and will give citizens a place for their own ideas and events," explains Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann.

Opening planned for the end of June

"We are using Oberkirchen sandstone for the podium, which is not only very weather and frost resistant, but also comes from Lower Saxony. It was important to us to use a building material from the region," adds Kai-Uwe Hirschheide, First City Councillor and City Planning Officer.

Work on the platform has been underway since May 19. We based the design of the pedestal on a similar example on the market square in Königslutter. Handover of the pedestal to the Fallersleben district is planned for the end of June.

The total costs amount to 70,000 euros, 75 percent of which is being funded by the federal government. The stage platform is a measure within the framework of the Sustainable Town Centers and Centres funding program.
