The hype starts!

Safety: access via BadeLand junction closed

On Friday, May 23, our Schützenfest in the Allerpark starts its 73rd round. Until June 1, many colorful rides will provide fun for young and old. For greater safety at the Schützenfest, there will be different traffic regulations for all vehicle traffic this year.

"Our shooting festival is the largest between the Harz Mountains and the Heath and is very popular with both Wolfsburg residents and many guests from the region. We want all visitors to be safe and to be able to enjoy the fun without any worries," explains Andreas Bauer, Head of Public Order.

One-way street regulation around P3 lifted

During the shooting festival, access to the Allerpark from the BadeLand junction must be closed. During this time, access will only be possible via parking lot P3. Guests coming from Nordstadt or from Vorsfelde (B 188) must turn around at the Schlosskreuzung intersection and drive back towards Vorsfelde in order to enter the Allerpark via P3.

At the same time, it is not possible to drive past the fairground (P4). Guests of the B'Moovd, the BadeLand, the EisArena or the Hotel Courtyard must turn left after the BadeLand bridge (twin bridge) and drive around parking lot P3. It is not possible to drive straight on towards the traffic circle. Contrary to the usual traffic regulations, it is possible to drive around P3 in both directions; the one-way street regulation is therefore lifted for the duration of the carnival.

Bus route 213 ends at the "Allerpark" bus stop

In addition, the BadeLand bus stop will not be served during the Schützenfest. Bus route 213 therefore ends at the Allerpark stop. A waiting area for cabs will be set up south of parking lot P3 at the BadeLand bridge. Visitors to the Schützenfest are requested to use parking lots P5/P6. Due to the use of the bypass of parking lot P3 in both directions, there may be delays in this area. The city recommends using public transport wherever possible.

Mobile barriers for city center and major events

We are strengthening security at public events: The central element is the purchase of mobile crossing barriers of the Citysafe type to protect heavily frequented event areas throughout the city. The administration's proposal envisages the purchase of mobile crossing barriers with a total length of 95 meters. The barriers are to be used at events such as the shooting festival in Allerpark, the Old Town Festival in Fallersleben and the Eberfest in Vorsfelde. The city's own WAS Service GmbH will be responsible for storing and setting up the barriers.

The modular Citysafe system has already been used successfully in other municipalities in the region. Cooperation with surrounding municipalities - for example by lending additional barriers - is possible and planned.

Secure planning through to a permanent solution

The central Porschestraße, a central event location in the city center, is a particular focus of security measures. In the future, the installation of fixed, retractable barriers is planned in order to permanently secure the area against unauthorized vehicle access.

Until permanent barriers are installed in Porschestraße, the mobile systems will also be used there. The exact planning of the fixed protection systems is currently being coordinated with Wolfsburg Wirtschaft und Marketing GmbH (WMG) - a detailed presentation is planned for October 2025.
