Replacement of a component

VW pool closed on Monday

The VW pool will be closed all day on Monday, May 26. The reason for this is the necessary replacement of a defective component in the control system of the pool water treatment plant.

Specifically, part of the automatic control system for water chlorination needs to be replaced. The work is technically complex and cannot be carried out while the pool is open for safety reasons. Regular operation is therefore unfortunately not possible on this day.

In the first two weeks of the season, there were several delayed openings. The reason for this was the component that had to be replaced, which had already led to temporary restrictions.

As an alternative, the outdoor pool in Fallersleben will be available from 6 a.m. on Monday. From Tuesday, May 27, the VW pool will reopen as usual at 6 am.

Thank you for your understanding.

Showers in the VW pool temporarily out of service

During a routine inspection, elevated legionella levels were detected in the VW pool. The cause was a technical defect: a circulation pump in the hot water system had failed. As a precautionary measure, the showers were immediately taken out of service. Bathing is still safe and poses no health risk.

The defective pump has already been replaced and since then the hot water system has been flushed with hot water to kill the germs. A check-up is scheduled for the end of this week. The results of the measurement, which will be used as a basis for deciding whether to reopen the showers, are expected to be available at the beginning of June.
