Strawberry punch, movie theater and writing workshop

Summer lounge in Vorsfelde enters its second round

From June 13 to July 13, the church square in Vorsfelde will become a summer lounge! After the great success of last year's event, this summer the center of the boar town will once again become a venue and meeting place for young and old. For a total of four weeks, actors and associations from Vorsfelde will be putting on a varied program - including open-air cinema, a writing and thinking workshop, activities for children and young people, readings and concerts.

"Our centers are vibrant places of togetherness - and this summer, the people of Vorsfeld are impressively demonstrating how lively and diverse their town is," says Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. "I think it's great how a four-week program has been put together here through joint commitment, which is accessible to everyone free of charge."

The Summer Lounge starts on Friday, June 13, at 3:45 pm with the opening by Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. After that, the program will run from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive.

The parking spaces in front of St. Peter's Church in Vorsfelde (Lange Straße) will be closed for the entire duration of the event and used as an event area. Visitors are requested to use other parking areas or to arrive on foot, by bike or by public transport.

About ZIZ - Sustainable inner cities and centers

The Vorsfelde Summer Lounge is taking place as part of the federal program "Zukunftsfähige Innenstädte und Zentren" - ZIZ for short. The Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) uses this program to promote innovative concepts for strengthening resilience and crisis management in cities and municipalities. The reason for the program is the far-reaching changes in many cities and municipalities, which are particularly affecting city centres, town and district centers and town centers. The ongoing structural change in the retail sector and new forms of offerings and businesses in the tourism, hospitality, culture, church, residential and commercial sectors are cited as major challenges. The city of Wolfsburg successfully passed the selection process for participation in the funding program and was one of 238 municipalities to receive funding.
