Wolfsburg honors the commitment of members of the Bundeswehr
National Veterans Day on June 15

"Veterans' Day is an overdue sign of respect for all those who have served our country with courage and commitment. Especially in times of growing security challenges, this commitment deserves our full recognition - and our visible support. Wolfsburg stands by the side of its soldiers - even beyond their active service," explains Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann.
On Friday, June 13, Mayor Weilmann welcomed representatives of the Bundeswehr's district liaison command and the Wolfsburg reservist comradeship to a reception at the town hall. This was a sign of appreciation - which will be followed by even greater public visibility in the coming year.
The benefit concert by the Hanover Army Music Corps, which is supported by the reservist comradeship, has long since established itself as a permanent fixture in the city's calendar of events. Joining forces with Veterans' Day would further underline the strong local commitment to the Bundeswehr and its members.
By participating in Veterans' Day, we are not only supporting the national initiative, but also the goal of promoting an active veterans' and fallen service culture in Germany - based on care, respect and social responsibility.
