UEFA Women's EURO 2029

We are among the final venues

It's done: We are one of the final eight cities with which the German Football Association (DFB) will enter the race in its bid to host the UEFA Women's EURO 2029. The joint bid by the city and VfL Wolfsburg-Fußball GmbH convinced the DFB Executive Committee in Frankfurt. UEFA will decide in December 2025 whether Germany will win the bid to host the tournament in four years' time.

"The fact that we have been nominated as a venue is a great success and a strong signal for Wolfsburg as a sports city. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed that the tournament comes to Germany," said Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. "Hosting such an important tournament would further strengthen our reputation as an attractive and sport-loving city. As the host city of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, we have already impressively demonstrated that we are a good host. Our city lives and breathes sport - with first-class conditions, a strong infrastructure and great enthusiasm among the population, we are ready for a tournament of this caliber."

Henry Eichberg, project manager of the WEURO bid on behalf of the city of Wolfsburg, was highly satisfied with the progress so far and praised in particular the cooperation of all the institutions involved: "It was only thanks to the close, constructive cooperation between the city, VfL Wolfsburg, WMG and the other players involved that we were able to position ourselves as one of the final venues in Germany. We would like to expressly thank everyone involved for this." Eichberg also explicitly praised the cooperation with the DFB.

Now it's time to keep our fingers crossed! UEFA's final decision on the awarding of the Women's EURO is expected in December of this year.
