Expert dialog on the war in the Middle East: further training for educational professionals at the adult education centre

On Monday, 16 February at 2 p.m., the adult education centre in the Bildungshaus Wolfsburg is hosting a lecture by social scientist Prof. Dr. Karim Fereidooni together with the Dialogue Centre for the Prevention of Radicalization and the Promotion of Democracy. The training course will provide orientation and practical recommendations for everyday pedagogical work.

The terrorist attack by Hamas on 7 October 2023 and the subsequent war in Gaza have led to a highly emotionalized and polarized social debate across Germany. Since then, many educational professionals have been faced with the challenge of responding appropriately to questions, uncertainties and conflicts in schools, youth welfare services and extracurricular educational programs.

In order to support them in this challenging situation, the Dialogue Centre for the Prevention of Radicalization and the Promotion of Democracy of the City of Wolfsburg and the Wolfsburg Adult Education Centre invite you to a training course with the social scientist Prof. Dr. Karim Fereidooni. The lecture offers a scientifically sound classification of the Middle East conflict as well as practical recommendations on how educational professionals can deal confidently and sensitively with controversial situations in everyday life.
Following the keynote speech, participants will have the opportunity to contribute their own experiences, questions and case studies. Together with the speaker, they will work out ways in which professionals can remain capable of acting, create safe spaces for discussion and strengthen young people in their judgment.
