Interest in Alzheimer Society Wolfsburg confirmed

A well-attended exchange meeting on the possible establishment of an Alzheimer's society took place on January 28 at Wolfsburg town hall. The meeting was hosted by the Lower Saxony Seniors and Care Support Center of the city of Wolfsburg in order to continue the desire for a local contact point for information and services on the topic of dementia. This had been expressed by relatives as part of World Alzheimer's Day 2025.

The aim of the meeting was to get to know each other personally, exchange expectations and ideas and jointly explore how a possible foundation could be organized. Perspectives, challenges and support needs were collected in small groups. The great interest and active participation show that there is a need for an independent Alzheimer's association in Wolfsburg. During the event, Christel Heike Flato, care specialist and team leader of the "Neues Land" and "Hellwinkel" residential communities at Bettina Harms GmbH, agreed to join the board.

Anyone who is also interested in joining the board or would like to help set up the association can contact seniorenservicebuero@stadt.wolfsburg.de.
