Registration for Easter fires
Registrations for the traditional Easter bonfires in Wolfsburg are now open. Registrations for the Easter bonfires can be applied for online at wolfsburg.de/veranstaltungsgenehmigung using the form provided there. The organizer remains responsible for the proper conduct of the event.
The Public Order Office would like to point out some important basic rules:
- Easter bonfires must not be misused for waste disposal (e.g. household and bulky waste). Only tree and shrub cuttings or untreated wood from annual pruning may be burned.
- The piling up of burning material should be started at the earliest two weeks before Easter, as otherwise it can lead to the depositing of waste.
- Piled up branches and plant cuttings are an ideal habitat for small animals such as small birds, hedgehogs and weasels. It is therefore essential to pile up or rearrange the piled material before lighting the fire so that the animals have the opportunity to escape.
- No liquid fuels may be used. The fire may only be burned in such a way that people or neighboring properties are not endangered or disturbed by smoke or flying sparks.
- The fire must be kept under constant supervision.
- The fire must be set up in an open area.
- Further questions on the subject of Easter bonfires can be answered by the Service Center of the City of Wolfsburg on the public authority number 115.
