New thematic map in the geoportal
The city of Wolfsburg has expanded its geoportal. Now new: a thematic map that bundles a wealth of environmental and climate-relevant information in a clear presentation. This is now available at https://geoportal.stadt.wolfsburg.de. It gives interested parties easy access to important data relating to environmental and climate protection.
It includes maps on:
- Nature and landscape conservation (e.g. nature reserves, FFH and bird sanctuaries, protected biotopes, natural monuments),
- Water (e.g. bodies of water, floodplains, drinking water protection),
- Traffic noise mapping with quiet areas,
- climate protection, for example wind energy and biogas plants,
- and other environment-related topics.
All maps can be shown and hidden individually and are provided with additional information. This makes it easy to understand spatial relationships. With the new thematic map, the city is increasing transparency and facilitating access to environmental and climate data.
About the geoportal: In the geoportal, the city provides digital maps and spatial information centrally and updates them continuously. Users can view various themed maps, show and hide layers and obtain specific information about the city area.
