Hesslingen history trail
Much more exciting information like this awaits you on the "Hesslingen History Trail". Ursula Bettin, the town's local heritage officer for Wolfsburg city center, came up with the idea of setting up the trail, researching historical material and preparing the practical texts. The project is dedicated to the history of the village of Hesslingen, but the former Rothenfelde colony and other prominent sites such as St. Anne's Church, the former Schiller Mill and the Jugendhaus Ost barracks also receive attention. Several steles with texts and images will be located at these places along the trail. In this way, the history can be discovered independently on site. Ultimately, the history trail even leads visitors to the tranquil streets of the Steimker Berg district. Ursula Bettin has succeeded in presenting the historical information in a way that locals and interested visitors to the town can experience. She received active support from Steffi Crain and Daniel Nieswand from the Institute for Contemporary History and City Presentation (IZS) in the development of her project.
Many thanks to all those who contributed time, effort and donations to the realization of the project.
