The Fallersleben volunteer fire department celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2025. To celebrate the anniversary, the Hoffmann von Fallersleben Museum is showing the special exhibition Fascination Fire Brigade - 150 years of the Fallersleben local fire department of the Wolfsburg Volunteer Fire Brigade, 65 years of youth and 5 years of children's fire departments and to commemorate 50 years of the forest fire disaster in 1975 in Fallersleben Castle.

Since it was founded in 1875, dedicated citizens have provided an important voluntary service for safety - extinguishing fires, dealing with accidents, floods and providing technical assistance. Today, the fire department in Fallersleben also includes a youth fire department that has been in existence for 65 years and a children's fire department (Löschwerge) that has been active for five years. In addition to training and operations, a sense of community plays a major role - for example during excursions, competitions or the popular fire department ball. The fire department demonstrates in a special way how civic commitment and democratic awareness can be put into practice.
