Bus network remains in Wolfsburg hands
City continues to rely on cooperation with WVG

"With this service contract, we are ensuring a high-quality and attractive service for our citizens in the Wolfsburg city area and putting our public transport on a sustainable footing," emphasizes Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. "In particular, the consolidation of flexible services such as on-demand transport is an important step towards modern and needs-based mobility."
Trust and reliability
The Wolfsburg City Council had already unanimously approved the direct award to WVG in June. Another company had not submitted a bid as part of the Europe-wide award procedure - the legal requirements for the direct award were therefore fulfilled.
WVG is also delighted with the trust that we as the city of Wolfsburg and the regional association have once again placed in it. Managing Director Timo Kaupert says: "I am delighted that the city of Wolfsburg and the regional association have once again placed their trust in WVG and will continue to place local public transport in our hands for the next 15 years. The extended term in particular enables us to continue to work consistently on developing local public transport in Wolfsburg into an important part of an attractive, sustainable and future-proof mobility solution. I would particularly like to thank the city of Wolfsburg and the regional association for the very constructive negotiations on the service contract."
The new agreement marks the start of a further stage of successful cooperation - with a clear objective: to further strengthen local public transport as the backbone of sustainable mobility in Wolfsburg.
