80 years of VfL Wolfsburg: an anniversary that unites us all
Club, city, fans - we celebrate a piece of Wolfsburg history together

VfL Wolfsburg stands not only for sporting success, but also for an attitude to life in green and white - deeply rooted in our urban society. "80 years of VfL Wolfsburg e.V. - that means 80 years of passionate commitment to our sport, 80 years of activity by thousands of our members and 80 years of joint development with our city and all local partners," says Henning Schillmöller, CEO of VfL Wolfsburg e.V.
Our city, our club
Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann emphasizes the close connection between the city and the club: "VfL Wolfsburg has been one of the most important image carriers for the sports city of Wolfsburg for 80 years and the athletes are outstanding ambassadors for us. The sporting successes, for example at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships in numerous sports and disciplines, are milestones in the city's history."
Fans make the anniversary visible
The fans set an initial example with a huge mural in the city center - and many more activities will follow. "This self-image is very important for all of us. VfL is an integral part of everyone's everyday life in very different ways," says fan representative Marvin Minner.
