Film music in the Christophorus Church

Orchestra

The orchestra of the Wolfsburg City Music School invites you to the Christophoruskirche Wolfsburg on Saturday, October 4, at 6 pm. Film music from classics such as Star Wars, The Magnificent Seven, Pirates of the Caribbean and Schindler's List will be played. The orchestra will be conducted for the last time by Hans Ulrich Kolf, who will be taking his leave as conductor. A total of 70 musicians - including 25 active members of the music school's orchestra and 45 alumni - will turn the Christophoruskirche into an acoustic movie theater.

"With this concert, we are bidding farewell to our longstanding orchestra director Hans Ulrich Kolf, who has shaped our music school for more than two decades," says Matthias Klingebiel, Director of the music school. "Under his outstanding and dedicated leadership, unforgettable concerts, special events such as the international orchestra camp and enriching concert tours took place."

Hans Ulrich Kolf, born in 1959, studied viola in Cologne and Düsseldorf and has worked as a violist at the Braunschweig State Theater since 1984. He has taught violin and viola at the Wolfsburg Music School since 1986. In 1996, he took over as deputy director of the orchestra, which has already performed numerous concerts and even made two concert tours to Japan. Admission to the concert is free.
