Königsberger Straße closed
Renovation work from September 8 to October 21
Announced several times, now it's time to get started: we are renovating Königsberger Straße! From Monday, September 8 until probably October 21, we will be resurfacing Königsberger Strasse between Grauhorststrasse and Martin-Luther-Strasse. During this time, however, Königsbergerstrasse will have to be fully closed in the affected sections.

"The renovation of Königsberger Straße is long overdue. By renewing the road surface, we are making a necessary investment in road safety and the infrastructure of our city," explains First City Councillor and City Planning Councillor Kai-Uwe Hirschheide.
A total of 6,500 square meters of road surface will be renovated. Among other things, potholes, rutting, cracks and various patches will be repaired. In addition, two drains and 28 manhole covers will be replaced and the sidewalk will be partially renewed. The construction work will cost around 440,000 euros.
Construction site in two sections
We are working in two construction phases. First from September 8 to 30 between the junction of Grauhorststraße and the junction of Wohltbergstraße and then, probably until October 21, between Wohltbergstraße and Martin-Luther-Straße.
As the cycle path is on the carriageway of Königsberger Straße, it is also affected by the necessary closure. There are no significant restrictions for pedestrians.
Bus routes diverted - waste collection ensured
Bus routes will be diverted for the duration of the roadworks. Detailed information can be found on the Wolfsburger Verkehrsgesellschaft (WVG) website at https://www.wvg.de/. We have also coordinated waste disposal with Wolfsburger Abfallwirtschaft und Straßenreinigung (WAS) in advance, so this is guaranteed. The residents affected can only be reached to a limited extent and have been informed separately about the road closure.
