Fallersleben active playground inspires with creative vacation week

Children experience a week full of nature and community

A week full of adventure, creativity and animal encounters - that's what the Fallersleben active playground offered from October 13 to 17. 15 children aged 6 to 10 built, carved, played and made new friends together.

Building huts was the big hit: with imagination, teamwork and a lot of skill, the children built their own huts, erected balconies and laid wooden floors. They were also enthusiastic about carving. Under the guidance of Arne Lieven, a pedagogical specialist on the site, swords and magic wands were created - always with safety gloves and the rule: keep the knife away from your body!

The campfire blazed in the middle of the playground - a real meeting place. The children kept the fire alive and roasted stick bread and chocolate bananas over the embers.

Animals, friends and free time

The animals were a particular highlight: curious goats, cuddly rabbits - to watch, stroke and marvel at. "I liked it most that we were with the goats and that we also walked on stilts and that I made such cool friends," says Solveig (9). Mila (10) adds: "It was nice that there were so many children there and that we became friends." And Mathilda (8) says: "I liked the fact that we got to know such great animals here, e.g. goats and rabbits."

There was also plenty of participation: the children chose their adventure activities democratically from a list in the morning. In the afternoon, it was time for free play - with plenty of room for their own ideas.

Support that gets through

Special thanks go to the Margarete Schnellecke Foundation. With their support, four children from financially disadvantaged families were able to take part in the adventure week. Nicole Kannewurf, deputy chairwoman of the foundation, was there herself and said enthusiastically: "It's wonderful to see how much fun the children have building and carving booths. We are delighted that we were able to make it possible for children who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to take part."

Fancy more adventure?

The Fallersleben active playground is also open outside the vacations - Tuesdays to Fridays from 14:00 to 17:45. If you would like to stay informed about upcoming vacation activities, simply send an email to ferien@stadt.wolfsburg.de and subscribe to the vacation newsletter.
