Work to replace the Hafenstraße/Weyhäuser Weg traffic lights will begin on Monday, November 3. The control unit and the signal heads still fitted with light bulbs will be replaced after an operating time of around 20 years. The traffic signals will be switched off during the work. In order to achieve a high level of traffic safety even when the system is switched off, only right turns from Weyhäuser Weg and Viehtrift will be permitted. Traffic coming from Hafenstraße can continue to drive in any direction. A detour route will be signposted as a result of the changed traffic routing. The speed limit will be reduced to 30 kilometers per hour on all approaches to the junction. The work is expected to be completed on Friday, November 7.

Other traffic lights are also to be renewed this year. These are the intersections Bahnhofstraße/Am Neuen Tor and Gifhorner Straße/Viehtrift with the partial junction Ehmer Straße/Hofekamp.
