"We have achieved a great result and made a significant contribution to climate protection," summarizes Kai-Uwe Hirschheide, First City Councillor and City Planning Councillor, who frequently uses a bicycle himself. "I am particularly pleased with the development over the past few years. The fact that we are continuously inspiring more cyclists to take part and setting new records every year."

The kilometers cycled correspond to a saving of around 60 tons of carbon dioxide compared to cars. The campaign period this year ran from August 24 to September 13.

Impressive achievements from Wolfsburg schools

The Wolfsburg schools and the Volkswagen team, which led the field with an impressive performance, once again showed particular commitment. With 95,709 kilometers cycled, the Volkswagen Wolfsburg team was once again able to increase its internal team result compared to the previous year. Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium followed in second and third place with 32,765 kilometers and Phoenix Gymnasium with 28,331 kilometers. Our team from the city administration also achieved a new internal record result with 17,456 kilometers, securing fourth place.

This year's top 10 main teams are completed by:

5th ADFC Wolfsburg (12,253 km),

6th Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium (10,457 km),

7th Open Team Wolfsburg (9,574 km),

8th VivaLaVida Wolfsburg (8,471 km),

9th VfL Wolfsburg (8,422 km),

10th Ratsgymnasium Wolfsburg (8,312 km).

A peak value: 707 kilometers per capita

Not only large groups, but also smaller teams achieved outstanding results in the CITY CYCLING 2025 in Wolfsburg. Particularly noteworthy is the performance of the Pedal-Power lvln team, which achieved a peak value of 707 kilometers per head with only two active cyclists. They were closely followed by the team Das Grün-Team (two cyclists, 649 km per capita) and Ducati Wolfsburg (three cyclists, 617 km per capita). These figures show impressively that even small teams can make a significant contribution to the overall success.
