Film evenings - post-war modernism on three continents

In keeping with the cold season, the Forum Architektur der Stadt Wolfsburg invites you to three film evenings in the former cinema in the indoor swimming pool. Two documentaries and one feature film will be shown, focusing on the architecture of post-war modernism on three continents. At the same time, the film evenings offer the opportunity to enjoy the special atmosphere of the Kino im Hallenbad. Admission to the films is free.
The following dates have been set:
- Wednesday, October 29, 7 p.m., documentary: Sep Ruf. Architect of Modernism
- Wednesday, November 12, 7 p.m., documentary: Power of Utopia. Living with Le Corbusier in Chandigarh
- Wednesday, December 10, 6:30 p.m., Feature film: The Brutalist
The documentary Sep Ruf. Architect of Modernism takes the audience on a journey through the work of one of the most important German architects of the 20th century. Sep Ruf created - not only with the Kanzlerbungalow - architecture for a new republic: light-flooded, open architecture that brings nature and people into harmony and enables new forms of living and working.
The film shows his most famous buildings: the German Pavilion at the 1958 World Exhibition in Brussels, the iconic Kanzlerbungalow in Bonn, the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Nuremberg, the Neue Maxburg in Munich and many more. Interviews with contemporary witnesses and architecture experts, together with the architectural images, create a tribute to Sep Ruf.
