Outdoor pool balance: Over 170,000 defy the changeable summer
After the end of the outdoor pool season on September 14, we can draw an overall positive balance. Despite the changeable summer, 174,968 guests visited our outdoor pools. Although this is around 20,000 fewer visitors than last year (193,341), we are satisfied with how the season went overall.

Our visitor numbers at a glance
With 83,158 visitors, the Fallersleben outdoor pool was once again the most popular, followed by the VW pool with 78,096 guests. The Almke outdoor pool, operated by the Stadtjugendring, had 13,714 visitors.
June was the month with the highest number of visitors with a total of 54,063 guests, of which 25,866 were in Fallersleben, 24,191 in the VW pool and 4,006 in Almke.
The busiest days of the season were
- June 22 at the Fallersleben outdoor pool with 3,723 guests,
- July 2 at the VW pool with 2,520 guests,
- July 2 at the Almke outdoor pool with 106 guests.
A curious side note: on May 22, we welcomed exactly one visitor to the Almke outdoor pool.
Highlights and special features
This summer, we successfully completed the refurbishment of the heating hall in the VW pool. The popular summer night swim also took place again.
The Fallersleben outdoor pool scored points with new aqua jogging offers and a reading event in cooperation with the reading network of the Wolfsburg Community Foundation.
Due to the closure associated with the renovation of BadeLand, we were able to deploy staff resources flexibly: Cashiers and pool attendants from the BadeLand operator GMF supported our outdoor pools. Lifeguards took on additional shifts and we were able to recruit two new trainees.
The season ran smoothly and without any serious incidents or bans. On particularly hot and therefore busy days, a security service provided additional support.
Hehlingen water park with an increase in visitors
WasserPark Hehlingen was open from June 6 to August 17 - at weekends and on Fridays outside the vacations, especially for school classes. A total of 4,178 visitors came, significantly more than in the previous year (2,870). A total of 2,600 cubic meters of well water was used for the operation.
Outlook for the winter season
In the winter season, the BadeLand and the Sandkamp and Heiligendorf indoor pools invite you to swim and bathe.
