"A garden is the whole world..."

Under the motto A garden is the whole world, caught in a fence, the Hoffmann von Fallersleben Museum and the Hoffmann von Fallersleben Society invite you to a literary and musical homage to the garden next Sunday, October 19, 2:30 pm. To mark the end of the gardening season - and to enjoy the last of the autumn flowers and the colorful trees - Antje Schneider and Simon Weinert will entertain with amusing, sometimes somewhat moralistic essays, poems and stories about inexhaustible gardening topics. Angela Maria Stoll accompanies the reading on the piano, with music by Bach, Mozart and Beethoven as well as Hoffmann von Fallersleben's contemporaries Schumann and Chopin. Admission is seven euros. Registration is possible by telephone at 0536252623 or by e-mail to hoffmann-museum@stadt.wolfsburg.de.

The Berlin trio's program makes wonderful reference to Hoffmann von Fallersleben, who as a child tended one of the "most beautiful gardens" in his homeland. The poet wrote about his great love of flowers, fruit and the green variety in his poems and songs throughout his life.
