Artist talk in the Kulturschaufenster
To mark the end of her exhibition Carte Blanche, artist Angelika Flaig is coming to the Kulturschaufenster in the Alvar-Aalto-Kulturhaus for an artist talk. On Wednesday, November 5, 12 noon, she will talk about her work and will be available to answer questions about her installation.
What does a roof sound like? And what does a façade sound like? And how does the viewer see themselves in it? Since October 8, artists Angelika Flaig (installation) and Peter Schwieger (music) have been bringing the Alvar Aalto House of Culture to life with a very special installation. Their artwork Carte Blanche, which can be seen and heard in the Alvar Aalto House of Culture (former Kulturinfo), takes an in-depth look at the building designed by the famous Finnish architect.
Consisting of four figurines, glass, sound and light, the installation, which is white during the day, unfolds a poetic effect at night when bathed in black light. The viewer finds himself reflected in the glass as part of the artwork. Four pieces of music relating to the library, the façade, the roof and the cellar, which can be accessed via a QR code on a cell phone, make the whole thing even more audible.
