New advice on barrier-free living

The city of Wolfsburg's senior citizens and care support center has expanded its advisory services. Citizens now have access to a new housing advice service that is specifically dedicated to the topic of barrier-free living. The aim is to help people in different life situations to make their living situation safe, comfortable and future-oriented.

The advice focuses on two central aspects: Forward-looking planning for an age-appropriate and barrier-free home and the options available in the event of acute need, for example following an accident or sudden changes in health. The housing advice service is not only aimed at senior citizens, but also at people with disabilities and relatives who want to find out about suitable home adaptations.

Families also benefit from the extended advice service. A safe and barrier-free living environment is essential, especially for households with young children or family members with special needs. The service includes information on structural changes in the home, the use of aids such as grab rails or stair lifts and technical assistance systems such as emergency call systems or smart everyday helpers.

Advice is individual, confidential and free of charge. Appointments can be made with the city's senior citizens and care support center by calling 05361 282848 or emailing seniorenservicebuero@stadt.wolfsburg.de.
