New through road
Ehmen/Mörse: Administration prepares planning decision for renovation

"The envisaged planning decision is the first step towards refurbishment. It enables us to make concrete plans. However, this also means that it is still too early to talk about a concrete start to construction. What is important is that the renovation and redesign of the K 73 will be one of our key transport infrastructure projects in the coming years," says Kai-Uwe Hirschheide, First City Councillor and City Planning Officer.
The damage is mainly due to the usual ageing process. However, the high traffic load also plays a role - the original road expansion was not designed for this.
Complete redesign - higher quality of stay
If the council makes a positive decision, we will completely redesign the Ehmen-Mörse thoroughfare. Based on the traffic volumes, we will develop solutions that are fair to all road users. Our aim is also to improve the quality of life by redesigning the public space.
The local thoroughfare extends across Mörser Strasse and Heinrich-Deumeland-Strasse. This means that the planning area extends from the junction with Fallersleber Straße in Ehmen to the junction with Salzwedeler Straße in Mörse.
Kerksiek bypass planned for 2026
It only makes sense to start construction on the Ehmen-Mörse through road once the Kerksiek bypass has been completed so that through traffic can be rerouted. The missing section of the Kerksiek bypass is scheduled for completion next year.
