Countering school absenteeism

On Wednesday, December 10, the schools division of the city of Wolfsburg invites you to an event on school absenteeism and school anxiety. A reading and discussion will take place at Haus der Jugend, Kleiststraße 33, from 16:30 to 19:00. Admission is free.

The focus is on the book Irgendwas in mir by Hendrik von Drachenfels, who has had his own experiences with truancy. His fictional character Hugo sheds light on the topic from an emotional perspective. The aim of the event is to discuss possible solutions together with affected specialists and teachers, to actively confront the phenomenon and to create space for exchange and networking. The book can be purchased and signed on site.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Stadtjugendring Wolfsburg and the Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft (GEW). Registration is now possible by e-mail to jugendhilfe.schule@stadt.wolfsburg.de.
