New consular agent welcomed at City Hall

She comes from Palermo, where she graduated from high school and also studied foreign languages and literature at the University of Palermo. Montagnino later joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. In January 2025, she took up her duties in the Directorate General for Administration and Information Technology in Rome.
The Italian Consular Agency in Wolfsburg looks after Italian citizens residing in Wolfsburg, Gifhorn and Helmstedt. In addition, the cultural office of the consular agency promotes and communicates the Italian language and culture in Wolfsburg.
"There has been close and trusting cooperation between the Italian consular agency in Wolfsburg and the city for many years. It is an important point of contact for many Italian citizens and a reliable partner for us as a city when it comes to joint concerns and projects. I warmly welcome Nadia Montagnino to Wolfsburg and look forward to continuing and expanding this good cooperation together," emphasized Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann during the inaugural visit.
Around 4,849 Italians with first citizenship currently live in Wolfsburg. There are a total of 15 Italian associations. Wolfsburg is also home to the Italian consular agency. The city has also been twinned with the province of Pesaro-Urbino since 1975 and has been friends with the city of Popoli Terme in Abruzzo since 2012.
