Change at the head of the Volunteering department
The city of Wolfsburg is paving the way for a successor at the head of the Volunteer Office: Dora Balistreri will take over as head of the department when Stefan Krieger, long-time head of the Volunteer Office, retires in the first quarter of 2026. For many years, Stefan Krieger has shaped and continuously developed the structures of volunteering in Wolfsburg with great commitment and expertise. His commitment has made a significant contribution to strengthening and networking civic involvement in Wolfsburg.
With Dora Balistreri, a professionally experienced and well-connected successor has been appointed. She has extensive professional experience in promoting volunteering, cultural work and project and event coordination. She most recently held a management position at the Italian Consular Agency in Wolfsburg, where her responsibilities included organizing high-profile events and maintaining international networks. She has also been a volunteer in various associations at board and network level for many years.
"Dora Balistreri has the ideal qualifications to further develop volunteering in Wolfsburg strategically and innovatively - I am very much looking forward to working with her." Said Lord Mayor Dennis Weilmann. "At the same time, I would like to thank Stefan Krieger for his many years of extremely dedicated work, with which he has played a decisive role in shaping voluntary work in our city."
