Promenade and WC facility opened
Increased attractiveness and user-friendliness
The renovated western promenade of the Allersee and the new, barrier-free toilet facility were officially opened. Around 267,000 euros were invested in the heated toilet facility with two unisex cubicles - one of which is barrier-free with a height-adjustable lounger. Two outdoor showers provide refreshment in summer. Over 900,000 euros were also spent on the promenade.

"The Allerpark remains a central place for recreation and leisure activities in our city. Our aim was to make the Allerpark even more attractive and user-friendly for all visitors. The extensive construction work has now been completed just in time for the warmer season," said a delighted Mayor Dennis Weilmann.
In addition to the barrier-free access to the new toilets, paved areas were renewed and benches were renovated or repositioned. "Areas were also unsealed to create new recreational areas in the shade of oak trees. We focused on ecological sustainability throughout the entire project," confirms First City Councillor and City Planning Councillor Kai-Uwe Hirschheide.
The lighting was also renewed and adapted to the requirements of the Federal Nature Conservation Act. This includes insect-friendly, warm white and downward-directed light with low scattering loss in order to reduce light pollution. At the same time, the orientation, foraging and reproduction of animals should not be disturbed. The aim is to protect biodiversity, reduce light emissions and cut energy consumption.
