More safety at the Nordkopf
Video surveillance continues

The previous system from 2013 no longer meets today's technical standards. By replacing it with a more powerful system, we are ensuring that security-relevant events can be detected and evaluated even better in future.
We have been using video surveillance at Nordkopf since 2000 - in close cooperation with the police. It serves both to prevent danger and to assist in the investigation of crimes. The legal requirements, in particular in accordance with the Lower Saxony Police and Regulatory Authorities Act (NPOG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), will of course continue to be complied with.
Video recording will continue to be carried out exclusively by the police. As the city of Wolfsburg, we will bear the costs and coordinate the implementation as the responsible regulatory authority.
We have also set up a weapons ban zone at Nordkopf in 2024. This complements the technical measures with a further element to increase the level of security and the protection of all citizens.
With the continued and modernized video surveillance, we are reaffirming our claim to create a safe, attractive inner city area.
