First summer construction site completed
Willy-Brandt-Platz ready - further construction phases from July 7

The work went exactly according to plan - a successful start to this year's summer construction sites. "Thanks to the speedy implementation and good coordination, this year's summer measures got off to a successful start," explains city planning officer Kai-Uwe Hirschheide. "Such renovations are necessary to keep the roads in good condition in the long term. Our thanks go to all those involved and to the citizens who supported the restrictions."
We would also like to thank you for your understanding and patience during the construction period. The new surface course now ensures a permanently safe road surface.
Next measures start on July 7
But that's not the end of our summer program: It continues from July 7 - this time on two central traffic axes. Heinrich-Nordhoff-Straße (out of town): The section between the Lessingstraße and Saarstraße junctions and the junction with Oststraße will be repaired. Traffic will be diverted to one lane on the opposite carriageway.
Braunschweiger Straße (out of town): The road surface is also being renewed between Siemensstraße and Röntgenstraße. Here, too, traffic will continue in one lane on the opposite carriageway. Access to Röntgenstraße will be closed for the duration of the works - a signposted detour will be in place via Heinrich-Heine-Straße, Laagbergstraße and Stadtwaldstraße.
In preparation, a central reservation crossing will be set up south of the Röntgenstraße junction on July 3 and 4. One lane in each direction will be closed for this purpose.
And one more note: Unfortunately, the theater parking lot will not be usable from July 7 to August 5.
